PG is preferred by the students or working professionals as it provides the food facility accompanied by other services like cleaning, etc. Flats do not offer much safety and security. PG is the best option as it is safe.
PG Life will be difficult & demanding for first-time students & workers. It takes some time for you to understand & get set. Here are a few points that you will start learning when you step into PG.
Taking Care of Personal Hygiene
You can also be staying with the students who are careless about personal hygiene. It may be due to washing clothes, shoes, etc. You can try to avoid the situation by following your hygiene.
Safe & Secure
Take care of your belongings & expensive stuff. Be careful when you are away from your room, make sure your locker is locked. You can hold your valuables in your hand so that it doesn't get robbed.
Financially Independent
When you live on your own, especially in a PG, you will never know when your wallet will get empty. It will be difficult for you to track the small penny of the amount spent on yourself & your friends. Take some amount of money at the beginning of the month & store it for future spending at the month end.
Self-Cooking
Make sure you eat home-cooked food wherever you go home or a relative place because you should not miss your home-style food in your place.
Learn to say “NO”
It will be easier to get along with people if you say yes to everything & everyone at first, But this will quickly ruin your entire existence. Keep in mind that saying "YES" to everything shouldn't come at the expense of your mental health. Accept that you don't have to go out every night or stay all night just because everyone else in the hostel does.
You can yet simply refuse your iPad, Jacket, or any other stuff. This will never be arrogant, in the future, it always boosts your personality. So always be ready to say “NO”.
